Santa Clara, Cuba - www.bitacoracubana.com - Los deportistas de béisbol en Villa Clara, carecen de implementos deportivos y recursos materiales desde el comienzo de la Serie Provincial de Primera Categoría, lo que ha traído el disgusto de los peloteros y aficionados.A los peloteros no se les han proporcionado trajes de jugar, ni zapatillas y mucho menos guantes para fildear. La Comisión de Béisbol de Villa Clara, les da a los organizadores de los encuentros deportivos sólo 5 pelotas para desarrollar los juegos. Para recibir una nueva tienen que entregar la vieja y si se pierden, los encuentros son suspendidos.
Los eventos deportivos se efectúan los días jueves, sábados y domingos, siempre en la modalidad de doble juego. A 24 partidos por cada uno de los equipos participantes, en representación de cada uno de los 13 municipios del territorio central de la isla.
Algunos de los juegos no han podido realizarse por falta de combustible para la transportación de los atletas, lo que ha generado protestas de los aficionados, que se han quedado a la espera del equipo visitador y sin que se le proporcione una explicación plausible.
Comentó el ex – prisionero político Jorge Luís Artiles Montiel, quien hasta el año 1992 fue fisioterapeuta de la Academia Provincial de Béisbol, con sede en el estadio Augusto Cesar Sandino: “Y eso que el comentarista deportivo Héctor Rodríguez, quien es Diputado a la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular, dice que este es el mejor béisbol de mundo”.
